  • US Army Honors Abbot Thomas Confroy, OSB

    On August 28, 2010 Abbot Thomas Confroy was laid to rest in the Abbey cemetery.

    On Saturday, August 28, 2010 Abbot Thomas J. Confroy was laid to rest in the Abbey cemetery, accompanied by an honor guard of U.S. Army solders led by a fellow officer who served with the Abbot in Vet Name.

    Delbarton welcomes six new faculty members for the 2010-2011 school year. Dean of Faculty Anne Leckie managed the two part orientation program which included a half day early summer session and two full days in late August.

    The monastic community of St. Mary’s Abbey mourns the passing of Abbot Thomas J. Confroy on the night of August 23, 2010 in the Abbey Health Care Center in Morristown, New Jersey after a long illness. The St. Mary's Abbey/Delbarton community mourns the loss of this very special man and monk.Lynn O'Gorman Latchford, a PhD candidate in the School of Religions, Theology and Ecumenics at Trinity College, Dublin, has written the story of Abbot Thomas's life based on 50 hours of taped imterviews and many converations with him.
